Assistant Dinghy Instructor
 Cedars Coaching Acadamy


This award is a centre specific qualification aimed at aimed at anyone 14+ years of age. This course trains instructors towards assisting on juniors courses and working with children. Once qualified, an assistant instructor will also be able to assist on Start sailing courses. Candidates must have a minimum of Stage 4 or Seamanship Skills sailing ability.
  • the course is run over 2 full days.
  • this course allows the successful candidate to assist qualified instructors with junior and adult Start Dinghy Sailing courses.
  • centre specific - the qualification is only valid in the centre at which the course was taken.

Prerequisites

Candidates must have a minimum of RYA Stage 4 or Seamanship Skills. Candidates may also have 1st aid and RYA powerboat level 2 if old enough but these are optional. (course run on request)

Dinghy Instructor

 

 

The Dinghy Instructor course teaches you the RYA method, the structure of the RYA and how to teach sailing. The course is run by an RYA Coach Assessor and is moderated on the last day by another RYA Coach Assessor. In addition to successful completion of this course, to qualify as an Instructor, you MUST also hold the following qualifications

  • Be 16yrs plus
  •  A recognised First Aid certificate
  • RYA Powerboat Level 2
  • RYA Pre-entry Assessment
