Naturally you need to have personal skills to attend an instructors
training course. Both the British Canoe Union and the Royal
Yachting Association instructor training programme are offers at Willen

This award is a centre specific qualification aimed at aimed at anyone 14+ years of age. This course trains instructors towards assisting on juniors courses and working with children. Once qualified, an assistant instructor will also be able to assist on Start sailing courses. Candidates must have a minimum of Stage 4 or Seamanship Skills sailing ability.

The Dinghy Instructor course teaches you the RYA method, the structure of the RYA and how to teach sailing. The course is run by an RYA Coach Assessor and is moderated on the last day by another RYA Coach Assessor. In addition to successful completion of this course, to qualify as an Instructor, you MUST also hold the following qualifications
