On popular demand, the dog show is back at the lake on the 7th & 8th June. Dogs from all backgrounds will perform their own tricks and skills, with the support of adoring onlookers. With a range of pet-friendly stalls, rescue homes and competitions ranging from dog agility to cutest pup, the event promises to be everything a dog-lover could wish for.
Dragon Boat
Festival – 29th

The 7th
annual
dragon boat festival will be held at Willen Lake on 29th
June! A
record-breaking number of crew from around MK will once again battle it
out over a 250m course in a charity competition sponsored by Electricity
4 Business. Thousands of spectators will flock to the lake to support
the teams and enjoy the bank side entertainment, food, fairground rides
and fun activities. Whether you are a competitor or a spectator, the day
guarantees fun for all!
Jet Ski National Finals – 6 + 7th September
Once again, Britain’s top jet-skiers will be competing in the Jet Ski National Finals at Willen Lake. Thousands of spectators are expected to visit the Lake to witness the freestyle displays and races that take competitors to speeds in excess of 80 mph. With the Lake buzzing with a maze of high-speed action and individual stunts, this is a truly capturing performance. What’s more, there are loads of activities around the Lake for adults and kids alike and food and drink for every taste! So make sure you are part of this high adrenalin calendar event of the jet skiing world.
Heritage Open Days – 11th
– 14th
September
Hundreds of Milton Keynes residents will once again have the opportunity to discover more about their home area. Willen Lake will feature as the start point and terminus of some trails and is a great place to grab a bike at a discounted rate. Whitecap Leisure will also offer boat rides and a guided tour of Willen Lake.
Bananaman Chase – 14th September 2008
Runners and walkers of all speeds have the chance to beat 10 bananas around a 10K course at Willen Lake. Each banana-wearing runner will start at a designated time and act as a pacer for the runners. Leukaemia Research is the only charity in the UK devoted/dedicated exclusively to researching blood cancers and disorders including leukaemia, Hodgkin's and other lymphomas, and myeloma.

The
Milton Keynes Santa Jog is a fun, festive and down right Santastic event
aimed to get joggers into the Christmas spirit. Participants can walk,
jog or run the 4km course around Willen Lake, Milton Keynes whilst
dressed in the free Santa suits the BHF will provide you with!
There is no minimum sponsorship requirement for the event but we do ask you to make a real fundraising effort at a time where many families won't be having such a Merry Christmas. Please help the BHF to fund life-saving research and support for heart disease sufferers in the UK by pledging your support to this fun, festive event.
