Willen Lake is host to a range of exciting and unique events, many of which draw spectators from around the country. The Dragon Boat Festival, an annual summertime event since 19--, attracts audiences of up to 15,000, whilst the relatively young Jet Ski Nationals looks set to rival these figures in the near future! Willen Lake welcomes all local and national events and offers support and assistance to charities. Whatever the event, we ensure there is plenty of sideline entertainment for all the family. Food and drink stalls cater for all tastes, whilst activities are suitable for all ages

4th July 2010 - Dragon Boat Festival
The 9th annual dragon boat festival will be held at Willen Lake on 4th July 2010! A record-breaking number of crew from around MK will once again battle it out over a 250m course in the charity competition. Thousands of spectators will flock to the lake to support the teams and enjoy the bank side entertainment, food, fairground rides and fun activities. Whether you are a competitor or a spectator, the day guarantees fun for all!

4th & 5th September 2009 - Jet Ski National Finals
Once again, Britain’s top jet-skiers will be competing in the Jet Ski National Finals at Willen Lake. Thousands of spectators are expected to visit the Lake to witness the freestyle displays and races that take competitors to speeds in excess of 80 mph. With the Lake buzzing with a maze of high-speed action and individual stunts, this is a truly capturing performance. What’s more, there are loads of activities around the Lake for adults and kids alike and food and drink for every taste! So make sure you are part of this high-adrenalin calendar event of the jet-skiing world. | |

3rd September 2009 - 10 km Bananaman Chase Runners and walkers of all speeds have the chance to beat 10 bananas around a 10K course at Willen Lake. Each banana-wearing runner will start at a designated time and act as a pacer for the runners. Leukaemia Research is the only charity in the UK devoted/dedicated exclusively to researching blood cancers and disorders including leukaemia, Hodgkin's and other lymphomas, and myeloma. Details on how to enter will be posted soon – put your running shoes on and watch this space!

5th December 2009 - Hearts First Santa Jog
The Milton Keynes Santa Jog is a fun, festive and down right Santastic event aimed to get joggers into the Christmas spirit. Participants can walk, jog or run the 4km course around Willen Lake, Milton Keynes whilst dressed in the free Santa suits the BHF will provide you with!
There is no minimum sponsorship requirement for the event but we do ask you to make a real fundraising effort at a time where many families won't be having such a Merry Christmas. Please help the BHF to fund life-saving research and support for heart disease sufferers in the UK by pledging your support to this fun, festive event.
We encourage you to get a team of friends, family or colleagues together, don your Santa Suits and give the best gift of all this Christmas the gift of life. | |
